Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

Is there an opening in my child's age group in your program? If not, when will a space become available? Do you have a waiting list?
A member of the Daycare staff will contact you upon receiving your inquiry, and your child will be placed on our waiting list. Putting your name on our waiting list does not guarantee you a spot but does give your family priority. We can only consider a space “confirmed” once Garderie Zazie Daycare has accepted a registration fee and the registration form; this payment holds the space and is not refundable.
Can I arrange to visit the child care centers in person?
The answer is yes. An appointment will be scheduled if space is available. A random visit will not be conducted if there is no space available; this would cause a great deal of disruption for the children in our care.
Can you tell me if the program is licensed? Is there a maximum number of children?
We are a licensed daycare; we are inspected annually by the province of Saskatchewan. In accordance with the Saskatchewan Child Care Act and Regulations, we follow appropriate regulations. We display a copy of our license and the most recent inspection report besides the parent bulletin board in the main hall. We have been granted permission to accommodate 12 children, ranging in age from 6 weeks to 12 years old. The number of children we can care for is limited at the moment.
How much does care cost? Is the fee inclusive of meals and snacks?
Don’t hesitate to get in touch with us for current rates. Rates are subject to change annually due to changes in living expenses. The price includes two nutritional snack meals and a home-cooked lunch.
What are the daily activities for the children, such as the schedule, the goals of the program, and the indoor and outdoor activities?
Garderie Zazie Daycare is a play-based learning Daycare. Schedules, the program’s objectives, and play represent their world and understand it better. Generally, outdoor play consists of free playtime during which children can utilize their gross motor skills. Age-specific goals and expectations reflect the developmental stage of each child
What is the schedule for the program? What happens if I am late picking up my child? Do I have to pay a fee?
The Daycare opens at 7:30 am and closes at 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. If you arrive after 5:30, you will be charged a late fee. Zazie will receive this payment directly, as she has stayed late with your child during this time. If we are not able to reach parents by 5:45pm, we will contact the emergency contact listed on the application.
Are there any subsidy programs or sibling discounts available?
Garderie Zazie Daycare offers 5% off the third child when children attend full-time and 2% off part-time. Garderie Zazie Daycare also accepts subsidized spaces.
In your program, how many teachers and assistants are there? Which qualifications do they possess?
Apart from myself, Garderie Zazie has one employee who meets our expectations regarding our program. We hire staff members who possess appropriate training and/or experience. In addition, we make sure our substitute teachers and program volunteers are adequately trained. Finally, it is expected that all staff will participate in courses, workshops, and conferences to maintain their knowledge
Are there any vacation weeks, holidays, or other times during which the Daycare will be closed?
The Garderie Zazie Daycare is open throughout the year. We are closed on all statutory holidays.
What is the policy regarding sick children? Will I have to pay if my child is ill?
When children are ill, parents should keep them at home. Should a sick child be brought to the Daycare, the parents will be notified to pick up their child immediately. You will not be reimbursed if your child is absent due to illness. Due to child/teacher ratios, you will not be able to take your child to Daycare on days when they are not scheduled
What are your policies regarding outside time?
As part of our daily schedule, we spend time outdoors. Children of all ages are encouraged to play outside when weather permits. Children spend time outside both in the mornings and the afternoons, and the staff provides a variety of activities to keep them entertained, explore, and have a good time
regardless of the weather.
Do children have scheduled nap times?
Garderie Zazie Daycare understands that each child has individual napping needs. For this reason, we are flexible regarding your child’s nap schedule. Our nap time policy details how much rest time is allowed during the day at Garderie Zazie Daycare based on the age group. It is not necessary for all children to sleep, though they have the opportunity for quiet time (lying down and reading a book, for example).
What Makes Garderie Zazie Daycare Special?
We are a small, family-oriented daycare and bilingual ( French /English). Q. At Garderie Zazie Daycare, your child will receive an enormous amount of one-on-one individualized attention due to our small teacher/child ratios. We See what sets us apart from the rest!
Enhanced COVID-19 Health & Safety Measures
Garderie Zazie Daycare is taking serious precautions in the midst of COVID-19. We ensure all surfaces, doorknobs, etc., are sanitized several times throughout the day. In addition, the entire Daycare is cleaned and sanitized daily after all children leave for the evening. We Emphasize frequent handwashing, and all staff members and children three and over must wear masks.
